Social Studies- Immigration

In our Social Studies unit, we are learning about how immigration impacted the United States during the late 1800's and early 1900's. We are learning about how immigrants entered into our country during this time period. One entry place was in New York at Ellis Island. You can explore what these immigrants had to go through in order to come and settle in the United States. Click on the link below to participate in an interactive tour.

Engineering Week

This week we celebrated Engineering Week at Fork Shoals. We were all engineers this week because we created our own flashlights! The PTA provided the whole school with supplies to make flashlights to celebrate Engineering Week. Our class loved it and enjoyed showing off their flashlights. When we were finished, we had a little flashlight party in the dark. I am attaching the video for you to watch.
Enjoy the video by clicking on the link below! And we might just have some future engineers in our class!

Egg Drop Projects

In our science unit about Forces and Motion, we are learning about gravity, inertia, speed, friction and more. Students were given the challenge to use what they have learned about Forces & Motion to create a container that will keep their egg from breaking when dropped from a high place. Check out our student's creativity and knowledge in some of their videos below...I hope you will be as impressed as I was!
